Nails in your body tell many things regarding malnutrition, infection and even any serious disease in the body. Keratin is the protein that makes up the hair, outer layer of skin and nails too. Deficiency of vitamins or minerals makes your nail to look dull and you need to consult your doctor. Nails can remain healthy only if you take care of them both internally as well as externally.
1.Olive oil for shiny nails
Olive oil is rich in linoleic acid which is a good moisturizer and can make them shine by eliminating dryness. Nails look dry due to dryness and olive oil prevents water from evaporating. Add few drops of olive oil to warm water and soak your nails in them for sometime. Add a few drops of lemon juice in 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil and soak your nails in this.
2.Consume Protein Rich Foods
Consuming protein rich foods is much mandatory for strong, healthy and shiny nails. Intake protein rich foods such as dairy, eggs, fish, chicken, meat, beans and some green veggies. Protein is considered as the building block for healthy shiny nails.
3.Use of Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is rich in healthy fats, caprylic acid, lauric acid and vitamin E for a healthy nails. This helps to strength cuticles and to retain moisture for a shiny nails. Take a few of coconut oil; massage your nails and cuticles twice a day.
Lemon juice is a very good bleaching agent and thus removes yellow strains and make your nails shine. Lemon manicure is the best way of treating the nails in a simple and easy way. Soak your nails in a bowl of lemon juice for 10 minutes. Then mix the vinegar in some warm water. Brush your nails with the vinegar solution for about 3 minutes. And now rinse off your nails with warm water.
5.Butter for Shiny Nails
Intake of butter daily is not a good idea if you are in the plan of weight loss. Nails need moisturization and butter which is a smooth fatty substance provide moisture. They also provide nutrients for the nail. Nails shine in the presence of sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, Vitamin A.
6.Use Baby oil
Everyday our hands and nails get exposed to water and thus breaks down keratin which makes the nails stronger and that holds together the top layer of nails. Baby oil is an excellent moisturizer with some minerals oil and fragrance. Whenever you are involved in household works, moisturize your hands with baby oil. Apply some baby oil to your nails and cuticles at night before going to bed.
